Hi Sarah
Good luck with the offline project and many thanks for posting the Winter Word Garden, I've thoroughly enjoyed the posts and it has given me (and countless others I'm sure) a feeling for the outside world through a bleak winter. Some beautiful poetic responses to your thoughts as well! best wishes David

1. How does your garden grow? - with weeds and rubbish blown and sometimes flowers, with slugs and snails and the across the road cat, sporadically but with love and beyond my control...

2. When was the last time you climbed a tree?

too long ago

3. When was the last time you walked barefoot?

outside - autumn on the beach.

4. If you were an insect, what would you be and why?
a caterpillar or a bee - bees are so furry and they make honey, caterpillars turn into butterflies!

5. What is your favourite shade of green?
lush grass

6. Where is your secret garden?
one that I look over the wall at at the end of my road!

7. If you were a bird, where would you build your nest?
in an ancient beech tree.

8. Close your eyes and think of a garden: real or imaginary, far away or round the corner. What can you see? Smell? Feel? Hear?

buzzing bees, leave rustling in the breeze, birds singing, a wood pigeon's coo, the soft breeze on my skin...

9. What do flowers mean to you?

beauty and hope

10. What do the fairies at the bottom of the garden eat for breakfast?
honey, nectar, rose petal tea and rose hip jelly

11. What is your favourite garden smell?
lilac and mown grass

12. If you found a door to a secret garden, what would you do?

turn the handle and see if it opened.

13. What does the word green mean to you?

lush soft grass under bare feet!

Hi Tracey
Glad you like the piece! As far as I know, London Fieldworks designed the boxes so that some of them can be used by birds (and the smaller ones by insects and spiders too). Let's wait and see if any take up residence!
Best wishes

1. How does your garden grow? I have a small garden in Stoke Newington
which is partially wild with a vague theme of herbs, wildlife and
night-scented flowers.

2. When was the last time you climbed a tree? Last summer but not very
high.

3. When was the last time you walked barefoot? Outside would be Spain
last July but inside today.

4. If you were an insect, what would you be and why? A brimstone
butterfly, they are long lived and strong flyers.

5. What is your favourite shade of green? Dichonia aprilina (Merveille
du Jour)

6. Where is your secret garden? Somewhere I can never return

7. If you were a bird, where would you build your nest? High up in a
tree or on a mountain ledge

8. Close your eyes and think of a garden: real or imaginary, far away or
round the corner. What can you see? Smell? Feel? Hear? Warm sunshine and
the sound of bees

9. What do flowers mean to you? I always want to know what they are!

10. What do the fairies at the bottom of the garden eat for breakfast?
Blackberries?

11. What is your favourite garden smell? Oregano, Nicotiana, autumn
leaves - many things

12. If you found a door to a secret garden, what would you do? Peek
inside

13. What does the word green mean to you? Life
